Contact Your Congressman About H.R. 1

The Senate is discussing and possibly voting tomorrow on H.R. 1, better known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. It is your right, no DUTY, as an American to let your voice be heard on this issue. Congress is proposing an astonishing, unheard-of $820 billion dollar (that's 82 followed by 10 zeroes, or $820,000,000,000, so that you can better understand this obscene amount) stimulus plan that will supposedly jumpstart our economy.

If this bill will help you by providing some sort of money to you and your family, let your congresspeople know about that aspect of it. If you are like me and find this stimulus plan to be a load of bullshit wrapped tightly with a bow, then you should let your congressmen know as much in that regard as well. We need to let the government know how we feel about something that will affect us for the next 10, 20, 50 years.

$820,000,000,000 is not something to be taken lightly, and our government should know that 95% of Americans would not make that in four lifetimes combined. Every precaution, every measure has to be taken if this money is going to be distributed by the government.

Let your congressmen know how you feel by contacting them through email, phone, handwritten letter, pigeon mail, whatever way possible. You can find out your congressmen's contact information by going to the following sites:
